History
It was part of the barony of Ayódar and initially belonged to the Muslim king of Valencia Zayd Abu Zayd. It received no settlement charter after the conquest and remained inhabited by Muslims. After the 1609 expulsion it was resettled with families from Godella, and the settlement charter dates from 17 September 1611, with Cristóbal Funes as lord of the barony. The wheat mill appears to be Morisco-era and is already mentioned in the charter; the Cubo wine press was built in the 14th century. In the Civil War the church of San Roque was damaged.
